Biography

Prior to becoming a Certified Nurse-Midwife, Traci Marin worked for 15 years as an RN. She specialized in cardiac, emergency, ICU, and obstetrical nursing. This experience, and her leadership capabilities, led her to the role of Nursing Supervisor at Fair Oaks Hospital. Traci graduated with top honors from Frontier Nursing University and joined Centreville OB/GYN in 2011. She also serves as a preceptor to Nurse Practitioner and CNM students.

Nurse-Midwives provide care beyond normal pregnancy. They are also Nurse Practitioners who specialize in gynecology and can treat common primary care issues experienced by women across their lifespan. This includes urinary tract infections, sexually transmitted infections, skin infections, depression, acne, headaches, painful periods, irregular periods, peri-menopausal discomforts and much more. They are licensed to write prescriptions, as well as order lab work and radiology tests. Traci is available for in-depth consultations on birth control, and can insert IUDs and Nexplanon for long term, highly effective contraception.

If you are pregnant, Traci is amazing in supporting you throughout each stage of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. She can attend the birth of your baby at Fair Oaks Hospital – whether you desire an unmedicated birth or an epidural. YES, you can have an epidural with a midwife! Her goal is for you to feel safe, calm, confident and un-rushed as you welcome your newborn baby. Traci will also assist you with initial breastfeeding. She is readily available by phone in the postpartum weeks as well.
