Biography

Kate is thrilled to be a part of the Centreville OBGYN/ Reston Women’s Center team! Kate graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Santa Clara University, then went on to earn her Associate Degree in Nursing from Bellevue College in Bellevue, WA. She worked as a labor and delivery nurse for several years while she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Master of Science in Nursing-Midwifery at George Washington University and Shenandoah University where she graduated with honors. She trained as a Nurse Midwife under Katie Tyson, Traci Marin, and the GW Midwifery Group prior to joining our practice.

As a Certified Nurse Midwife and Nurse Practitioner, Kate sees women in any stage of life from adolescence through menopause. She supports her patients through gynecologic problem visits, well-woman visits, those looking for birth control, those looking to become pregnant, and those who are on their pregnancy journey. She is a strong advocate for patients looking for vaginal birth after cesarian section (VBAC). Kate delivers at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital and is with her patients every step of the way during labor, whether her patient desires unmedicated childbirth or an epidural. She is certified in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM), and advocates for intermittent monitoring for her low-risk patients. Kate strives for her patients to feel empowered, safe, and respected.
